The LGfL Directory is visible to every member of staff with a valid USO account.

This directory is designed to allow:

1.All LGfL schools to easily find the phone number of another school

2.All staff in LGfL schools to find the direct lines of any VoIP service users who are listed in the directory.

Using the LGfL Schools Directory

Select the LGfL Schools Directory under the LGfL Directory tab.

This allows you to find the public number of any school in LGfL as well as the free phone number of any school using the VoIP service.

You can use it to search for any school that is part of LGfL either by selecting an LA and the school name or by entering any search criteria into the search box provided.

For users of the VoIP service, all phone numbers are integrated into the 'Click-to-dial' functionality that is available to individuals who have a phone registered to their USO account.

If you have multiple phones registered to your account and wish to use the 'Click-to-dial' feature, you will need to select the phone from which the call should originate.

Each school has the potential to display two phone numbers.

The number listed in the School Main No column is the school's public phone number. Calls to these numbers require a '9' to be dialed at the start and always incur a charge.

The number listed in the School Main VoIP No column is that school's main number inside the LGfL IP Telephony service. In order to place a FREE call between two schools, both schools must be using the LGfL IP Telephony service. In such instances, simply dial the number in this column, without a '9' at the start but including the '*' character as part of the number.

If using 'Click-to-dial' and the school you are calling has an internal VoIP number, the call will automatically be routed to the free number.

Using the VoIP User Directory

Every person with a registered phone in a school subscribing to the IP Telephony service will appear in the VoIP User Directory.

However, everyone has the option to become ex-directory.

Every user of the VoIP service who is not ex-directory will have their direct dial free phone number listed.

You can use the search functions to either search for a person by their USO username or by typing any part of their name into the second search box on the page.

It is possible for every user to be ex-directory.

Users can configure this setting themselves if they have a registered phone or a system administrator can configure it on behalf of another user.
